St. Patrick’s Day/Recording/Spite/Treasure Fest
Tonight, we hit the stage at the Grey Eagle with our friends in The Campaign 1984 and Collapse! Should be a fun St. Patty’s Day. Not that any of the three of us know anything about celebrating Irish heritage and alcohol. But, I digress.
Unfortunately, we had to postpone recording the new record due to Travis having severe pain (carpal tunnel related) in his hand for the past little bit. He’ll be pushing through it tonight and hopefully he’ll be well enough that we can jump back in next weekend.
Matt recently posted some of the album artwork for our new album. Yes, it is a love letter from an “old fling,” rather, a long distance relationship that he had in the past. It’s a pretty heavy thing to realize that such a deep, personal aspect of Matt’s life is being very blatantly worked into the aesthetic for Old Flings. But I fully support it. One of the reasons we make music is to work out our personal demons and the constant whirlwind of emotions that plague our minds, whether they are related to love or society or tragedy or hope. I hope that it strikes everyone else the same way.
Last thing: Josh and the crew at TREASURE FEST posted the schedule! We will be playing on May 19th @ Common Market at 9:45pm, right after our Greenville pals RUBRICS and right before SENDERS.
