This album is so damn good. Can’t wait to see ‘em on the 25th at the Odditorium.
Good morning! We are pleased to release the video for our broken-hearted love song, “Grip” today. The song can be found on our upcoming full-length, SPITE. The film was shot and edited by Miriam Allison, a dear friend and fellow artist.
The intention of this project isn’t so much to have a “music video,” but to use another medium of media-based art to promote the upcoming album while simultaneously promoting Miriam’s artistic abilities. Hence why we opted out of performing in the film, like in traditional music videos.
Special thanks are due to Jake and Shannon and the other the folks at Sylvan House (aka Titty Town) for letting us use their house, to Miriam for being a wonderful friend and being so passionate about this project, to all of our friends who made it out to be in the video, to Samantha and Maggie for making cakes for the shoot, and especially to Ryan and Brenna Sheffield, our actors and dear, dear friends, for pretending like they aren’t the sweetest, most loving married couple for a day so they could “break-up” on camera.
We hope you enjoy the song, the film, and the story as a whole! Thank you!
The preorders for SPITE are up now! They are available through both Self Aware Records AND Bitter Melody Records! Each label are offering half of the 100 red LPs and half of the 200 black LPs. Reds go first, because they’re dirty commies.

2011 has been a fun year for us. Over this past year, we went from being a small-time, “on the side” sort of project to giving serious priority to our endeavors and making an effort to construct this band into a true and constant outlet for Matt, Travis, and I. Thus, we are very excited to enter 2012 with a bunch of shows already lined up, with the likes of The Menzingers and the Ataris!
And we promise more to come. We’re also almost finished writing for our full-length record, which will see the light of day through the wonderful Bitter Melody Records!
Lastly, Matt has two shows in January with his other musical endeavors (Just Die! & solo, respectively) that you should know about:
On 11/12/2011, Collapse, Asheville’s heavy, modern rock duo featuring brothers Austin and Phil Hickey, are premiering a musical endeavor which has been crafted for over a year now. We are honored to be playing with two friends who are just as talented as they are great dudes.
Meet up with us at the Emerald Lounge tomorrow night in downtown Asheville next door to Rosetta’s Kitchen. $5 for advance tickets (from us, Harvest Records, or Static Age Records) or $7 at the door. 21+ only, unfortunately. Doors open at 9pm and we open the show.
We will also have our new demo CDs available!

First, the show at Club Sammich (Greenville) with the Rice Cakes was a blast.
Second, we’ve been lying low lately but the next couple months should make up for it.
These will be our last three shows with our founding drummer Travis Hollifield. He will be leaving at the beginning of December to move to Chicago and eat deep dish pizza and shit. But have no fear, we are still in the process of writing before Travis leaves and hope to be ready to record a new album in the coming months.
